Habitat

Habitat

I've just got a short and sweet entry for you today about a pattern that's got my knitting bug going again. Jared just released his newest pattern today, Habitat, and I had the honor of being one of the test knitters. In true brooklyntweed fashion, I knit one in tweed and another in a solid.

Habitat

Pattern: Habitat, Jared Flood
Size: Blue - M/L, Orange S/M
Yarn: Debbie Bliss Aran Tweed, color 20003 (blue), 2 skeins; Cascade 220, color 7824 (orange), 1 skein
Needles: Addi Turbo size US 5, US 6

There's really nothing much more that I can say about this pattern than learn how to knit cables without a cable needle so you can wear it sooner! I'm a loose knitter, hence the smaller needle sizes. The blue went to B and the orange one is for me!

My habitat, San Francisco
Of course we had to model these for you in our native habitat.

The view you see here is from Twin Peaks. Yeah, it's a bit smoggy and gross (how I miss the clear San Francisco skies of my childhood), but this is what the view from Twin Peaks looks like on a good day. Most other days all you see is white.. as in fog. We took a special visitor up here this weekend of which you'll hear more about soon. But until then enjoy this last photo of Habitat, which exposes my own glaring mistake on the orange version.. a miscrossed cable. Who's perfect, right?

Habitat Detail

And lastly a PSA for those wanting to visit Twin Peaks, make sure you bring a layer with you. It's usually quite windy up there.
