Cupcake recipe: Chocolate cupcakes, More from Magnolia
Frosting recipe: Fool-proof chocolate frosting, Cooks Illustrated
Yah, still no major crafty action happening over here. Just baking. But I think I've outdone myself this time. I actually followed the directions for the frosting this time. What a difference it makes in the texture, consistency and mouth feel. Soooo good. I haven't used the Magnolia chocolate cupcake recipe in at least a year. I don't know why abandoned it .. but man, it's so good, and rich. I'm not turning back. This chocolate chocolate combo, hands down, worth the glassful of milk, even if you are lactose intolerant. Unfortunately, I have to remind my family to eat them.

I guess I'm the only person in the house with a sweet tooth for baked goods. papaFasu loves sweets too, but he's digging into leftover halloween candy at the moment. He might be the only person I know that really enjoys butterfingers besides Bart Simpson. Maybe if I made butterfinger cupcakes...

Oh Butterfingers...I was staying at a hostel the night after Halloween, and they had a ton of leftover fun size Butterfingers. For some reason I could not stop eating them. They remind me of my childhood - they were my brother's favorite candy bar, and since I wanted to be just like him I decided they were mine too. Still bring back fond memories..

i still love butterfinger!
where do you get those paper cupcake wrappers? they look so much more classy than the pastel paper cups from the grocery store.

Those looks so good! You can adopt me and you'll never have to remind me to eat sweet treats!

Confoundingly, my boyfriend also doesn't like sweets. Every time I bake, I'm convinced that I will find the one sweet he likes, and end up eating it all. Not that bad really...
Needless to say, I'm all over your cupcakes!

I, also, love to bake and would love to know the source for the chocolate icing in Cooks Illustrated. Was the recipe in their magazine or cookbook? Could you also please tell me where I can purchase the cupcake liners or papers...they're very elegant and perfect for an upcoming party to celebrate the birth of my new granddaughter!
Thanks so much for sharing and inspiring...I'm very grateful!

Where do you get the lovely cupcake papers? I will do some research for the cake and frosting recipes - that frosting looks like it would melt in your mouth!
