Do you think he'd kill me...

He'd surely kill mefor wearing his socks with my ghetto black summer wedges? But all the cool girls are doing it. How could I not resist just trying it? I just want to see what it looked like. I guess Trekking in brown and girlie shoes just don't go together, huh? Not to mention that it's a bitch trying to walk around with socks and wedges. I almost hurt myself! (Come to think of it.. all the cool girls were wearing jaywalkers with their shoes.. doh! -- okay now I feel like a dork) I'm sure my neighbors could vouch since they must have thought I was acting rather strange, too. Standing in front of the house with the camera set on the steps. I ended up moving next to the stairs near cars away from plain view. It worked quite well as it gave me the best lighting. If B only knew.. But he will soon. He made a mention last week that he's never seen my knitblog and I said, "Really? I never gave you the link?" Honest to goodness, I thought I had given him the link before. But he could have also have found it through my flickr. I've given him the link to my flickr, for sure. Do you think it's weird that I'm a tad bit embarrassed or rather shy to show my knitblog to someone I'm so close to, who knows how weird and crazy I am and obessive I get? Anyways, I digress... Pattern: Gentleman's Shooting Stockings with fluted pattern, Nancy Bush - Knitting Vintage Socks Yarn: Trekking XXL color 69 Needles: Inox size 1 (2.25mm) Started: May 18ish, 2006 Finished: May 30ish, 2006 Recipient: B Notes: I obviously didn't follow the instructions on this one at all. I didn't want to make B anything close to resembling stockings, I'm not sure anyone in San Francisco needs socks of that length. So I shortened the sock and started out at 72 stitches and also decreased the length of the ribbing. Other than that, everything was the same. This was my first time using Trekking. Initial thoughts? Nice, but nothing spectacularly out of this world. I think the novelty comes in the colors. Speaking of which, despite the fact that I've seen Trekking with more color variations than this one, I probably should have chose something more solid for this pattern. The color variations in the Trekking kind of obscure the stitch pattern a bit. And then there's also a fuzz about the yarn. Kind of lends to a rustic appearance.. or maybe it's just with this particular colorway. Thoughts on the pattern? Again, a winner and flew by really fast. Nancy Bush, must I say this again, pure genius. I couldn't really get good shots of the stitch pattern due to the color issue, or maybe just the camera, the angles and the lighting (okay, maybe I'm a horrible or lazy photographer at times).

I hope B likes them.. and I hope he doesn't kill me for showcasing his socks on the internet while I was wearing them with girlie shoes. (And they do fit -- he's tried on one side already. There's a lot of stretch to be had with that pattern)
